10 DAYS OF THINGS WE LOVE – #6 – Free Activities

Who loves free stuff? We sure do! Our five free favorite activities in Dallas will give you options for a cash-free way to spend your weekend.

                     Free Activities We Love

WeLove_free1. M-Lines. The M-Lines vintage trolleys operate 365 days a year (normally) and provide safe, reliable and convenient public transportation (did we mention free of charge) to the Mckinney Avenue area. Find more information here: www.mata.org

2. Klyde Warren Park. The Kylde Warren Park opened in 2012 and provides (literally) hundreds of free activities including:
      Exercise bootcamps
      Music Thursday
      A children’s park
      Chess games

3. Trinity River Audubon Center. The Trinity River Audubon Center is the perfect place to enjoy nature as a family. Enjoy the hiking trails, hands-on exhibits and the Children’s Discovery Garden. While you’re there, check out the more than 50 species of birds or hike the largest urban bottomland hardwood forest in the country.

4. ArtWalk. Discover fabulous art in Dallas by taking a self-guided tour with Public ArtWalk Dallas. The 3.3-mile journey through downtown highlights city favorites like the floating sculpture at Dallas City Hall, Fountain Place and the spiral-shaped tower at Thanks-Giving Square.

5. JFK Memorial. Just outside the former School Book Depository is the infamous ‘grassy knoll’ where an indelible mark was left on history. Nearby is the John F. Kennedy Memorial. Designed by family friend, Phillip Johnson, the memorial is an open-roofed, concrete-walled monument symbolic of an open tomb.
