10 DAYS OF THINGS WE LOVE – #9 – Restaurants

Dallas loves dining and so do all of the foodies at Minerva. Narrowing down our favorite local restaurants was taken very seriously. We covered everything from food trucks to fine dining with our five favorite places to eat.

1. Gemma
Gemma not only makes phenomenal Nouveau American Cuisine, but it takes landlocked Dallasites to the West Coast. Each plate is full of freshness and the inviting environment complimented by an extensive wine list makes it easy to see the masterminds behind Gemma came from one of America’s most beloved getaways — Napa Valley. Located in the authentic and eclectic Knox/Henderson area, this restaurant just may become your new favorite.

2. Public School
This swanky spot straight out of LA takes grilling to a whole new level — almost as if you were being ‘educated’ in the art of it all. They offer everything from a roasted poblano with quinoa to shrimp and grafton cheddar grits, a southern classic, accompanied by a beer selection of the same caliber. With a bit of Dallas flare added, Public School is quickly becoming the new hot spot in the West Village, and just when you thought this place was too good to be true — they offer weekend brunch, a true Dallasite’s favorite pastime!

3. Snappy Salads
Snappy Salads is the Chipotle for salads. With thousands of combinations to fit any palate, salads here are — well — snappy! Daily specials along with a regular menu are also available for those who want to leave it to the pros. Already having opened eight locations, this go-to lunch spot is bound to pop up across the country before you can say veggies.

4. Ruthie’s
You won’t see standard cuisine at these food trucks, instead, you’ll see how they’re creating their own ‘new standard’. Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe takes a simple grilled cheese recipe and steps it up 10 notches. With twists for meat lovers including brisket and meat patties, their hearty ‘sammies’ are fit for the soul. Keep your eyes peeled for the uber popular Dallas sensation, this truck will roll right into your heart.

5. Off Site Kitchen
There are tons of places to get a burger in Dallas but this place has the best. OSK serves up unique, juicy creations that make for an award-winning lunch, and their secret sauce is out of this world. The best part? They help out veterans through the Wounded Warrior Project. You can donate any amount and you get a free ice cream cone in return.
